Employment of Minors (under the age of 18) - violations of Pennsylvania state laws relating to minors' employment.

In order to employ a minor, a legally-issued certificate of employment is required. It is presumed that when an employer has this certificate, that employment is valid.

When employment is not valid, in violation of state law, then there is an increase in the compensation rate by 50%. This increased amount is paid directly by the employer, and not by the insurance company. The emplyer is liable if it knew or shuld have known that the minor was working illegally.

It is reasonable compensation to increase the rate to an illegally employer minor by 50% under PA law.
